Jon Sheehan is Senior Policy Advisor at the Office of Governor John Carney of Delaware. Recently, Jon has led Delaware’s education and child care response to COVID-19. He ensured child care availability for essential personnel by setting up over 500 Emergency Child Care Sites and devising a funding structure to preserve child care infrastructure throughout the pandemic. Jon also published Guidance for school district decision-making, led a weekly workgroup of education leaders, supported remote learning implementation, continued key school feeding programs, and coordinated federal funding for K-12 schools. With an impressive background and list of accomplishments, Jon has also taught in classroom for many years. He talked about making of Education Policy at the state and local levels. Jon shared with our teachers and principals’ ways of funding education, resource allocation, ensuring the quality of education, recruiting and developing teachers in our schools, and many other issues of interest. They changed some valuable ideas.
