DC naturalist painter Ellen Sinel's distinctive oil landscapes focus on the beauty and serenity of trees and the colors of the season. They are familiar, yet abstract and provide an artist's lens to the world around us. Grasses, Trees, Movement, Change: these aspects of nature have always intrigued Ellen. Seasonal changes (subtle) and climate change (dramatic) alter and sometimes eradicate parts of nature. The Artist focuses on preserving our landscape's images and the emotional essence that may or may not exist in decades to come. Influenced by places visited and events, her work gradually changes, passing discreetly from one phase into another.
